More than a Hearing
The People’s Truth and Restoration Commission goes beyond simply listening to testimony – it serves as a people-powered engine for truth, justice and collective action. Rooted in accountability and guided by compassion, our mandate is to bear witness to suffering, investigate harm in all its forms, pursue restorative justice, stand in unwavering solidarity with affected communities and transform evidence into meaningful action. This is more than a hearing; it is a movement to restore dignity, confront impunity and spark global change.
To
Bear Witness
Create a sacred, public space for survivors, witnesses, and experts to give testimony on human rights violations, including war crimes, and crimes against humanity.
To
Investigate & Document
Systematically investigate and record the full scope of human suffering and who profits, including the destruction of land and life, known as ecocide.
To
Pursue Restorative Justice
Move beyond documentation to actively chart a path for healing, restoration and accountability. Reconciliation without this process often feels empty.
To
Stand in Solidarity
The People’s TRC holds dedicated sessions to witness the profound human rights crises in Palestine, Sudan and Congo, elsewhere, and social issues like GBV.
To
Take Action
Evidence will be compiled into public interest reports, submitted to legal bodies, and used to launch awareness campaigns that pressure governments and corporations to act.
